This led to a trip all around Brazil experiencing the culture and food first hand. The cuisine focuses on using simple ingredients to make tasteful, nutritious and incredible dishes. As they explored, they formed a menu that used their knowledge of the culture in a quick grab and go style – traditional Brazilian food with a twist! Five on Black uses organic and local food, and sources sustainably whenever possible. They also serve vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The store promotes upcycling by sharing helpful information, connecting people and hosting educational events. Each product sold in the store uses anywhere from 50%-95% greater repurposed materials – even their business cards, tags and bags are upcycled! The team is also extremely supportive to local artists and crafters. Due to this, almost everything in the store is produced locally! They want to do their part for the local community and encourage upcycling artists to sell their products and grow their brand from their storefront.
